Case Study: The Impact of Detroit Out Loud

Detroit Out Loud is a summer festival created by our Community Sponsorships team that celebrates the art, culture, music and communities that make Detroit unique. Launched in 2019, Detroit Out Loud was held as a single-day event in Rouge park. The COVID-19 pandemic of 2020 forced our team to solve for a multi-faceted challenge: How could we still hold this festival in a way that was both safe and engaging? How could we better support local businesses and talent during this difficult time? Our answer was to reconceptualize Detroit Out Loud as a two-day hybrid event to combat virtual fatigue and support a multitude of Detroit entrepreneurs, businesses and talent.
