Each year, the Rocket Community Fund holds a virtual book drive in honor of National Reading Month. The book drive is open to our 15,000+ Rocket team members and supports literacy efforts through participating United Way chapters in our home communities (United Way for Southeastern Michigan, United Way of Greater Cleveland, Valley of the Sun United Way, United Way Centraide Essex-Windsor).
Our 2025 virtual book drive surpassed previous years when we managed to raise a record-breaking $14,283.35! This year’s Virtual Book Drive wasn’t just a fundraising event—it was a movement of knowledge, hope, and community support. Our team members stepped up in an unprecedented way, shattering previous records and demonstrating the true spirit of giving.
“Our virtual book drive is more than just a collection of books—it’s a powerful tool for change,” said Denine Ngoyi, Senior Program Manager for Team Member Giving. “For our organization, and the communities we serve, it represents the opportunity to share knowledge, inspire young minds, and foster a love for reading that can transcend boundaries.” Since we began hosting this virtual book drive, we’ve raised a total of $42,461.78 for literacy efforts across the US and Canada!
To every team member who contributed, shopped, and supported this drive: Thank you. Your generosity has created ripple effects of knowledge and inspiration that will continue to grow far beyond this single initiative.
Together, we’re not just promoting the power of reading—we’re leading the way to a more informed, connected, and empowered community.
