As America’s largest mortgage lender, Rocket Mortgage deeply understands the value of a secure, stable home. Sadly, this is not something that everyone is able to experience. Even veterans, the men and women who served our country, often find themselves experiencing homelessness.
We believe everyone deserves a place to call home, which is why Rocket Mortgage has been the lead sponsor of the Built for Zero movement since 2018. This important initiative, which seeks to end veteran and chronic homelessness, is helping more than 80 communities across the country make meaningful strides in their work by focusing on collaboration, data, and constant innovation. With the support of Built for Zero, 12 communities have reached “functional zero” for veteran homelessness and 2 communities have achieved this milestone for both veteran and chronic homelessness.
In addition to providing financial support for Built for Zero through the Rocket Community Fund, Rocket Mortgage has always worked hard to raise awareness of this important initiative through national advertising and other efforts. Today, we’re proud to share an exciting new partnership with the NFL called “Six for Service.”
“Six for Service” is part of the NFL’s Salute for Service program, which honors veterans and active duty service members. Through the initiative, Rocket Mortgage will donate $1,000 to the fight to end veteran homelessness for every touchdown scored during the month of November. As of today, this initiative has raised $161,000. You can track the amount raised each week at RocketMortgage.com/SixforService and see some inspiring messages from NFL athletes including Larry Fitzgerald and Marvin Jones JR.
